Seattle, USA — Dominican outfielder Julio Rodríguez continued to demonstrate his great offensive momentum by hitting his 13th home run of the season and leading the Seattle Mariners to an 8-3 victory over the New York Mets.

With this triumph, Seattle reached its eighth consecutive victory, the team’s best streak in the current Major League campaign.
Rodríguez was a key piece in the Mariners’ offense by hitting a home run in the sixth inning and also contributing a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. The home run allowed the Dominican to tie Luke Raley as the team’s home run leader.
During the month of May, Rodríguez led the American League with 10 home runs, solidifying one of the best offensive stretches of his recent career.
Seattle also received significant offensive contributions from Patrick Wisdom, who hit his first home run of the season, and from Venezuelan Jhonny Pereda, who hit the second home run of his Major League career.
Starter Logan Gilbert earned the win after working 5.1 innings in which he allowed three runs and struck out eight batters.
