New York (EFE).- The MLS All-Star 2025 is celebrated this week in Austin (Texas, USA) with a match between the best of the MLS and Liga MX in which the reunion of Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos stands out.
The Argentinian and the Spaniard starred in fierce duels when they defended the colors of Barcelona and Real Madrid, respectively, although they were later teammates for two seasons at Paris Saint-Germain from 2021 to 2023.
On this occasion, Messi and Ramos will once again face each other since the Rosario player, now at Inter Miami, is in the MLS team for the All-Star game while the Andalusian, who plays for Monterrey, will be part of the Liga MX team.
Austin’s Q2 Stadium will host this new edition of the MLS All-Star Game, which will feature the skills competition tomorrow, while the All-Star match will be held on Wednesday.

Much of the attention will be on a Messi who is in excellent form with 12 goals in his last seven league games with six doubles.

In addition to Messi, other players stand out in the MLS team for the All-Star game, such as the Mexican Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano (San Diego), the Uruguayan Diego Rossi (Columbus Crew), the Brazilian Evander (FC Cincinnati) or the Spaniard Jordi Alba (Inter Miami).
For its part, the Liga MX squad will feature, in addition to Ramos, prominent names such as Colombian James Rodríguez (León), Mexican Alexis Vega (Toluca) or Spaniard Sergio Canales (Monterrey).
André Jardine, América’s coach, and Nico Estévez, Austin’s coach, will be in charge of leading the Liga MX team and the MLS team, respectively.
Last year, the Mexican league team defeated the MLS All-Stars 1-4.
The 2025 MLS All-Star Game will be held a week before the third edition of the Leagues Cup begins on Tuesday, July 29, a tournament in which the 18 Liga MX teams will face 18 MLS teams this year.
