Bogotá.- Spanish footballer Lamine Yamal continues his vacation in Colombia with a visit this Thursday to Medellín, capital of the department of Antioquia, where he arrived wearing the yellow jersey of the Colombian national team to enjoy the Flower Festival after being crowned champion of the 2026 World Cup.
“Welcome Lamine Yamal to Medellín and to Colombia. What a pride to receive you in our beautiful city. What a joy to hear you speak so nicely about our country, about our Medellín and about our people”, wrote the mayor of Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez, on his X account.

Gutiérrez posted a photo with the soccer player in which he is seen smiling, dressed in the Colombian national team’s jersey and jacket.
“You were crowned world champion with Spain just two weeks ago and today you are enjoying yourself among us, in the middle of our Flower Festival. Incredible,” added the official.

Several fans also posted videos of Lamine Yamal during a performance by Colombian singer Ryan Castro in Medellín’s Comuna 13, where he was seen performing ‘El ritmo que nos une’, an iconic song of the Colombian national team, and addressing the audience in attendance.
“Thanks for everything. Very happy to be here. To Ryan, for always breaking it like that,” said Yamal in front of the fans who gave him an ovation.
The 19-year-old Barcelona player caused a sensation last Tuesday with his visit to Cartagena de Indias, the destination he chose to start his vacation in Colombia.

Lamine Yamal was seen walking through the streets of the city’s historic center accompanied by his security team, who shielded him from a group of fans that approached the Spaniard to take photographs.
Since Spain was crowned World Cup champion on July 19th against Argentina, the national team players have taken vacations to different tourist destinations.
