Santo Domingo.- The National Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office are deepening the investigations into the homicide of merchant Francisco Antonio Reyes Plasencia, known as “Pony,” which occurred in the municipality of Los Alcarrizos. As part of the inquiries, several people, including a minor, are under investigation for their alleged connection to the case.

The body of Reyes Plasencia, 56, was found Monday night inside his residence, located in the Pueblo Nuevo sector. According to the death certificate, the cause of death was multiple cranial traumas.

The spokesperson for the National Police, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, reported that several people have been interviewed during the investigative process, including several minors. He specified that the proceedings with the adolescents are being carried out under the established protocols for the specialized jurisdiction and in the presence of their parents or guardians.

Pesqueira explained that the authorities cannot confirm the versions that have circulated regarding the case until the collected evidence allows the facts to be established officially.

Likewise, he indicated that the information related to an alleged situation of sexual exploitation is part of the lines of investigation being developed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, although he clarified that, so far, there is no official conclusion on that aspect.

As part of the investigation, the Police recovered the gray Mazda vehicle that had been stolen from the victim’s home, an item that has contributed to expanding the investigation and advancing in the identification of those responsible.

The authorities reported that they will continue with the proceedings together with the Public Prosecutor’s Office and that they will offer an official report when the corresponding investigations are concluded.
