Juan Dolio, San Pedro de Macorís – The Ministry of Public Health (MISPAS), in coordination with the National Health Service (SNS) and with the technical support of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), began this Wednesday the exercise to measure the maturity level of the Integrated Health Service Networks (RISS) in the Yuma Region, which is made up of the provinces of La Romana, La Altagracia, and El Seibo.

The integration of health services is not achieved solely through rules or structures, but is built on common work, where what really matters is the population, the patients, and everything that each of us can do to bring health to each one of them,” he stated.
n” “nFor her part, Vice Minister Yudelka Batista stated that this measurement represents a strategic step to continue strengthening the health system and consolidating a care model organized into integrated networks.
n” “n“This measurement transcends the preparation of a diagnosis. It becomes a management tool to guide decision-making, prioritize investments, strengthen coordination between institutions, and design improvement plans that allow for the provision of more integrated, timely services focused on people’s needs,” stated Batista.
n” “nThe official explained that the results will provide objective evidence to strengthen network governance, optimize territorial planning, and improve the allocation of public resources, thus contributing to the consolidation of a more efficient and sustainable health system.
n” “nDuring the exercise, the maturity assessment tool for Integrated Health Service Delivery Networks developed by the Pan American Health Organization will be applied, which analyzes dimensions such as governance, service organization, coordination between different levels of care, clinical management, population access, continuity of care, social and community participation, and the use of information for management and decision-making.
n” “nAs part of the methodology, technical teams will develop workshops, analysis and validation exercises, as well as visits to health facilities in La Romana, La Altagracia, and El Seibo to learn about the operation of the service network and validate the information collected during the process.
n” “nThe findings will allow for the development of an improvement plan aimed at strengthening the integration of services, optimizing coordination between the different levels of care, and advancing towards continuous, timely, quality, and person-centered care.
