Santo Domingo.- The founder and director of Alofoke Media Group, Santiago Matías, denounced through his platform that a meeting he had scheduled for this Tuesday with students from the Caribbean University (UNICARIBE) was canceled, allegedly due to pressure from political sectors.
The information was provided during a special broadcast of Alofoke Radio Show, where he stated that the activity was suspended without a clear explanation being offered to the organizers.
“Political sectors scared the owner of the university. That’s right. No, rather the rector or the person who coordinated that, and they canceled the event,” Matías expressed.
The businessman indicated that he is not bothered by the cancellation of the activity, but regretted that they did not offer him a direct reason. He attributed the decision to alleged “political pressure” because, as he said, some sectors cannot stand him reaching spaces where he already has the support of the young public.

“They can’t stand that I am reaching a sector that I have already won over. We are talking about the fact that there must be between 30 and 40 thousand young people at that university,” he added.
Matías maintained that the university missed the opportunity to hear, in his words, “a story of resilience, of discipline,” and stated that “a crazy old guy didn’t build this,” in reference to his journey from the Capotillo sector to becoming one of the most influential figures in the digital sphere in the Dominican Republic.
