Santo Domingo. — Vehicular traffic on a section of the Las Américas Highway will be temporarily interrupted this Monday night due to the installation work of the central beams for the pedestrian bridge being built at kilometer 10½ of that road.

The closure will affect the Santo Domingo-Boca Chica direction and will be maintained from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM, a period during which specialized teams will carry out lifting, placement, and adjustment work on the metal structures that are part of the project.

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) explained that the measure is necessary to ensure safety during a key stage of construction, due to the use of large machinery and equipment in the intervention area.

The operation will be coordinated by the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (DIGESETT), the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (INTRANT), and EDEESTE, entities that will be supporting traffic organization and safety conditions while the work is being carried out.
