Santo Domingo.– A National District court issued coercive measures against Frederic Augusto Emam Zade Lluberes, identified as the driver of a Porsche SUV involved in the accident that left Migration agent Snayder Almánzar seriously injured, who passed away days later while receiving medical care.
Judge Rocío Espejo, of the Sixth Chamber of the Special Traffic Peace Court, ordered the defendant to pay an economic guarantee of RD$2 million through an insurance company, periodic reporting to the authorities, and a travel ban.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the driver for alleged violations of Law 63-17 on Mobility, Land Transportation, Transit and Road Safety, as well as for offenses contemplated in the Penal Code.
The accident occurred in the early hours of May 31 at the intersection of Jiménez Moya and Independencia avenues, in the National District. According to official reports, the SUV in which the accused was traveling allegedly struck a vehicle belonging to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM).

Investigations indicate that the vehicle was traveling at high speed and allegedly crossed the intersection when the traffic light was red, causing the collision with the official unit.

As a consequence of the crash, several members of the DGM and the Dominican Republic Army were injured. Among them was agent Snayder Almánzar, who suffered the most serious injuries.
The General Directorate of Migration reported that the agent remained admitted to a health center since the day of the accident, but subsequently passed away due to complications derived from the injuries suffered.
The institution lamented the passing of the young public servant and expressed its condolences to family, friends, and coworkers.
