Santo Domingo. -Dr. Ana Jacqueline Ureña, the next dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), reaffirmed her commitment to the academic and institutional strengthening of the faculty and expressed her support for the candidacy of Dr. Jorge Asjana David for the Rectorship of the state academy.
Dr. Ureña offered these words during the closing ceremony of the electoral campaign, where university authorities, faculty, students, and administrative staff gathered in a meeting in which she highlighted the importance of unity, collaborative work, and the construction of a shared vision for the future of the Faculty of Humanities and the UASD.
During her speech, the future dean assured that the Faculty of Humanities is prepared to actively contribute to a new stage of institutional transformation.
“The Faculty of Humanities unites around Dr. Asjana to tell him that we are here and that he has a battalion of men and women willing to unite talents and wills to make the dream of making the Primada, the First, a reality,” he expressed.

Likewise, he reported that together with his work team, composed of Dr. Ibeth Guzmán; teachers Zoraida de León and Petronila Dotel; teachers René Olivares, Raúl Hernández, and Ambrosio Sánchez, candidates to lead their respective schools; as well as teachers Pedro José Vásquez and Ángel Ortega, candidates for vice-deans, he formally delivered to Dr. Jorge Asjana David a work plan built jointly for the development of the dean’s office and the various schools of the Faculty of Humanities.
The proposal, developed in a participatory manner, was also shared in digital format with the members of the university community present at the activity.
Ureña highlighted that the commitment made by his team is backed by an extensive track record of service within the university.

“Our commitment is not supported only by words. A 35-year trajectory of UASD life, from undergraduate to postgraduate studies, serving from every position I have assumed within our beloved UASD, backs it up,” he/she affirmed.
The candidate also took advantage of the stage to call on the university community to prioritize collective well-being and strengthen the institutionality of the academy.
“Today we are not simply closing a campaign; today we reaffirm a commitment to the university that shaped us, to the students who expect more from us, and to the country that needs a strong, humane, and visionary academy,” he stated.
At another point in his speech, he emphasized the Faculty of Humanities’ ability to drive significant change within the UASD.
“Let no one doubt the strength of the Faculty of Humanities, because when will, experience, and love for the UASD come together, there is no impossible goal,” he/she maintained.
The event concluded with a call to continue building a more modern, participatory university that is closer to its community.
