Santo Domingo.– Doctor Diego Babado Torres announced this Saturday the acceptance of his candidacy for the presidency of the Bar Association of the Dominican Republic (CARD), during a meeting that brought together hundreds of legal professionals at the Mediterráneo restaurant.
During his speech, Babado Torres stated that the unity of the legal class will be one of the main pillars of his administration, considering that the institutional strengthening of the guild depends on the integration and active participation of all sectors that make up the profession.
“The Dominican lawyer needs an institution that is close, that listens to their demands and works to improve their living conditions and professional practice,” expressed the candidate to lead the CARD.
The former president of the Bar Association explained that his decision responds to the multiple needs faced by legal professionals in the country, among which he cited the lack of adequate health insurance, housing plans, a service cooperative, and a pension system that contributes to the well-being of the guild’s members.
