Santo Domingo.– The outgoing secretary general of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Carolina Mejía, stated that one of the organization’s main challenges is to continue recognizing the value of its membership and ensuring that those who have contributed to the party’s growth continue to have spaces to serve the country.
n” “nDuring his speech to PRM leaders and militants, Mejía highlighted that the organization is built on the effort of thousands of people who dedicated years of work, sacrifice, and commitment to make the party’s arrival in government possible.
n” “n“When a PRM member has the capacity, the preparation, and the willingness to contribute, they must find opportunities to put that talent at the service of the nation,” he expressed.
n” “nn” “nThe leader maintained that recognizing the effort, loyalty, and commitment of the membership strengthens the party, the government, and the citizens’ trust in the political project that the PRM represents.
n” “nIn that context, he emphasized that “no PRM member should feel, or be made to feel, like a stranger in the government they helped build”.
n” “nMejía also called for preserving party unity, which he defined as one of the main strengths that have allowed the PRM to achieve important political and management victories.
n” “n“Unity does not mean thinking the same about everything. It means understanding that the collective project is above any individual difference,” he stated.
n” “nLikewise, he highlighted the administration of President Luis Abinader and urged the leadership to defend the achievements reached during his administration.
n” “n“Defending this government is defending a different way of governing: with transparency, institutionality, responsibility, and commitment to the people,” he/she affirmed.
n” “nAt the conclusion of her speech, Carolina Mejía thanked the trust received during her eight years as secretary general of the PRM and expressed her conviction that the party will continue to be the country’s main political force if it maintains unity, values its people, and continues working for the well-being of the Dominican Republic.
