LA ROMANA.- Yeison Colomé put on an offensive show that included 39 points and 9 three-pointers, helping the Cañeros del Este qualify for the LNB Super League semifinals during a 103-64 victory over the Titanes del Sur at the Eleoncio Mercedes sports center.

n” “nColomé shot 15-of-21 from the field, 9-of-12 from three-point range, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, and recorded 2 steals for the Cañeros (13-13), who secured the fourth playoff spot and eliminated the two-time defending champion Titanes (12-14).
n” “nLugic contributed 18 units and 5 steals for the winners, who also had 12 points and 9 rebounds from Reymond Bastardo. For the Titanes, Diego Colón contributed 14 points, Luis Montero 9 and 8 boards. Richard Bautista was limited to 4 units and shooting 2-of-10 from the field.
n” “nThe La Romana native Colomé was the key from the start for the Cañeros. In the first quarter, a tip-in by him with 4:28 remaining completed a 17-1 rally that put the Cañeros ahead 17-5. Later, Lugic scored two free throws with 1:17 left, and the Eastern team pulled away 26-10. Colomé reached his 20th point with a layup with 0:08 remaining, and the quarter ended 31-16.

n” “n“The Eastern Light Aircraft” took center stage offensively again in the second quarter, as with his fifth three-pointer he increased the lead for his Cañeros to 42-24. With 4 seconds remaining, Colomé sank another triple and the first half concluded 53-34 for the orange team.
n” “nBy adding 10 points in the second quarter, Colomé reached 30 in the first 20 minutes of action, shooting 12-of-16 from the field and 6-of-8 from three-point range. Lugic contributed 10 units and Bastardo 7 for the Eastern team. Montero produced 7 points and Isaiah Rivera 6 for the Titanes side.
n” “nThe Titans tried to come back in the game, but Colomé kept making sure that didn’t happen. His seventh three-pointer came with 4:18 remaining, giving the Eastern team a 63-47 lead. With 1:49 left, Colomé injured his leg after a steal and had to be carried to the locker room. The visitors couldn’t get much closer and the scoreboard read 70-54 after three periods.
n” “nThe last quarter started in a big way for the Cañeros. A basket by Bryan Polanco completed an 8-0 run and gave a 24-point lead (78-54) to the La Romana team. Colomé returned with less than five minutes left in the fourth quarter and immediately nailed two consecutive three-pointers, making the score 87-59 with 4:02 remaining.
n” “nThe Cañeros shot 58 percent from the field and 16-of-31 from three-point range (52%). They limited the Titanes to 10-of-38 shooting from three (26%) and 35 percent overall. The San Cristóbal team only went to the free-throw line six times.
