SANTO DOMINGO, DR.- The San Carlos club defeated the San Lázaro squad 73-65 this Tuesday to repeat as champions in the 40th Women’s Superior Basketball Tournament (TBSF District 2026), in a match played at the Ensanche Luperón club sports center.

The women from San Carlos swept the final series 2-0 against the women from Santa Cruz, which was set as a best-of-three, and claimed the Seaboard “Clean Energy” Cup for their second consecutive title.

The event was dedicated to Doña Milagros Ortiz Bosch, former Vice President of the Republic, and was organized by the National District Basketball Association (Abadina), presided over by Edwin Castillo (Tatico), and Congresswoman Melina Sánchez, who headed the Organizing Committee.

Melissa Cabral was the cornerstone of the “Five Corners” offense with 20 points, courted by Yadira Marte, who scored 16 points, nine balls and distributed four, Arisleidy Tolentino achieved 10 plus nine catches, and Franchesca Villanueva eight baskets and 13 rebounds.

For the Jobo Bonito girls, Paola Maldonado stood out with 21 points, Laura Díaz with 14, five rebounds and four assists, Angie Hodge scored 11 units, six rebounds and gave five passes, and Vanessa Bautista netted eight more points plus 13 rebounds.

Edwin Castillo (Tatico), president of Abadina, and Wendy Castillo, who represented the company Seaboard “Clean Energy”, presented the championship trophy to Carmen Casado, manager of the two-time champions San Carlos club, along with Mía Liberato, the players, and the coaching staff.

Casado has been at the helm of the green-and-yellow team since 2017 and during the two titles won in the years 2025 and 2026, and he was accompanied at the Seaboard Cup presentation by coaches Willy Soriano, the head manager, his assistant Yoel Feliz, the players, and fans

Soriano managed a total of four games, including the first two of the regular season (2-0) and the last two of the tournament, as he traveled to Mexico as an assistant for the U18 women’s national team. In his absence, Feliz took over, finishing with a 4-1 record and being elected “Manager of the Year”.
