In the afternoon and early evening, significant cloud developments are expected that will produce moderate to heavy showers, accompanied by electrical storms and wind gusts in various sectors of the provinces of La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Santiago, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Azua, San Juan, San José de Ocoa, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Elías Piña, Independencia, Bahoruco and Pedernales.
Tomorrow Saturday, from early morning, the southeast wind, laden with humidity, will combine with the trough to generate cloud cover increases accompanied by local showers and thunderstorms in provinces near the south coast, such as La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, among others nearby. During the afternoon and well into the night, the occurrence of other showers is expected, sometimes moderate to heavy, accompanied by electrical storms and wind gusts in locations in the northwest, northeast, southwest and the Central Mountain Range. Among the most prone provinces are: El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Santiago, San Juan, La Vega, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Monte Cristi, Elías Piña, Barahona, Independencia and Bahoruco.

From this National Forecast Center, we have increased the level of meteorological alert due to the risk of urban flooding to 6 provinces, as indicated in the following table:
Despite the expected rainfall, the temperature will remain hot, due to the time of year (summer). The population should hydrate frequently with water and natural juices, wear light-colored clothing, seek cool and ventilated places, avoid periods of greater sun exposure without proper sun protection during the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. In addition, keep in mind that children and the elderly are more susceptible to suffering the effects of these high temperatures.
