Moscow.- Ukrainian drones managed to strike one of the main centers of the Russian petrochemical industry this Monday more than a thousand kilometers away from the front line, an attack in which 13 people died and 75 were injured.

Attack against the deep rear
The Ukrainian attack reached the “residential sector and industrial enterprises of the city of Nizhnekamsk,” located on the banks of the Kama River, about 150 kilometers east of the regional capital, Kazan.
This city, whose refineries had already been attacked previously by Ukrainian drones, also has important companies in the chemical industry.

The mayor of Nizhnekamsk, Radmir Belyaev, wrote on his MAX account that “Tatarstan was the victim of a new drone attack” on Monday morning, directed “against both industrial and civilian targets.”
Although they did not specify which objectives were achieved, the Ukrainian channels Supernova+ and Exilenova+ indicated that it could be one of the two local refineries, and published images of a column of smoke on the horizon.
This information was confirmed by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army, according to which the target of the attack was the Taneko refinery, belonging to the oil company Transneft.

“A fire has been reported at the facilities,” stated the Ukrainian military command.
However, the independent Russian channel Astra claimed, based on the analysis of photos published on social media, that the target hit was the Nizhnekamskneftekhim chemical plant, which specializes in tire manufacturing.
Russia denounces civilian deaths
The Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR) initiated a criminal case for a “terrorist attack,” as reported on Telegram by the entity’s spokesperson, Svetlana Petrenko, who reported the death of a minor.
The Minister of Health of Tatarstan, Almir Abashev, indicated that it was a girl, who died as a result of her injuries before the ambulance arrived.
Petrenko described the event as “a new cynical and inexcusable crime by the Kiev regime” and noted that “the attacked facilities housed civilians who had no connection whatsoever to military actions.”
In the context of the current escalation, six people died yesterday in the Russian border region of Belgorod as a result of a massive Ukrainian drone attack.

Russian attacks in eastern and southern Ukraine
The Ukrainian side reported on Monday the death of five civilians in the Kharkiv region and another in Dnipropetrovsk as a result of Russian drones, artillery, and aerial bombs.
“Russian forces carried out a massive artillery attack against the residential area of the village of Buhaivka, in the Chuhuiv district. The attack destroyed homes and caused the death of five people” in this Kharkiv locality, as reported this Monday by the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleh Siniehubov, reported repeated Russian attacks against this region, which injured several people.
In particular, he noted that Russian forces launched two missiles, two guided aerial bombs (KAB), six Molniya-type drones, four FPV drones, and another 67 as-yet-unidentified drones.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, indicated on Telegram that Russian attacks claimed one life and injured five people in several local districts.
In Sumy, where Russian forces are attempting to create a security buffer that would also include part of Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk, the Military Administration reported an attack with five bombs that injured at least five people.
Meanwhile, Ivan Fedorov, head of the Military Administration loyal to Kyiv in the southern region of Zaporizhzhia, reported a missile attack that left 18 people injured, including a minor, a figure that later rose to 24.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy launched an intense campaign of attacks against the Russian rear on June 25th, which was intended to last for 40 days, and to which Russia has responded with massive ballistic missile attacks against Kyiv and the port city of Odesa.
