The Book Fair resumes this Saturday with the inauguration of pavilions

Santo Domingo. – The Santo Domingo 2025 International Book Fair (FILSD 2025) will resume its programming this Saturday, September 27, following the precautionary suspension of activities scheduled for Friday 26 due to adverse weather conditions.

The decision was made by the Ministry of Culture, organizer of the event, following the normalization by the Emergency Operations Center (COE) of the alerts issued due to the rains and the tropical disturbance that affected the country.

The FILSD, held in the Juan Pablo Duarte Culture Plaza, will resume its course with an intense Saturday session, headed by the Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo.

One of the highlights of the day will be the official opening of the Frank Moya Pons Pavilion, a space entirely dedicated to the honored historian in recognition of his invaluable contributions to historiography and Dominican cultural heritage.

The head of Culture will lead this activity, as well as the inauguration of the Pavilion of Good Words, a platform designed to promote reflection and the use of positive language.

The Children’s Pavilion will also be opened, where an extensive program for the little ones will be developed. It should be remembered that children’s literature is the thematic axis of the FILSD 2025, with more than 70 activities aimed at awakening the imagination, cultivating reading habits and contributing to the formation of future generations of readers.

The FILSD 2025, which runs until October 5, is established as the most important literary event in the country. It features a diverse program of more than 600 activities, 15 thematic pavilions, and the participation of 39 national and 24 international publishers.

Also, the presence of the Latin American Literary Fairs and Festivals Network as guest of honor stands out, which reaffirms the international projection of the fair, endorsed by the country brand certification since 2023.
